Strategy

A strategy is a long term plan of action designed to achieve a particular goal. Strategy is differentiated from tactics or immediate actions with resources at hand by its nature of being extensively premeditated, and often practically rehearsed. Strategies are used to make the problem or problems easier to understand and solve.

Organization strategy typically describes a future state as well as the process of getting to that place. Some people describe it as a destintion as well as a description of the road to take in order to get to the destination.

Example: For a nonprofit focused on Education, the strategy might be to "Make the US a country in the top 5 for secondary education by improving the curriculum, school environments, and teachers." This strategy example describes both an end state "top 5" and a method of achieving the end state "curriculum, environment, and teachers."
