I'm very happy to report that the first-ever Mission Driven Performance Management Summit in Washington, DC, was a smashing success! We had over 80 people in attendance and had incredible discussions about how the Balanced Scorecard can be used to drive lasting strategic change.

Robert Kaplan and Allen Grossman, both of Harvard Business School, led the event and provided great insights on the complexity of managing nonprofit and public sector organizations. At the same time, however, they provided solid examples and frameworks on how to navigate these challenges.

Speakers like Tiziana Dearing of Catholic Charities of Boston, Dave Schlendorf of the FBI, Michael Arthur of the University of Leeds, Debbie Jaffe of Fulton County Schools, and others, were instrumental in giving real life case examples and lessons learned.

The participants in the event were equally instrumental in making this event a success. The level of participation in the pre-event workshops and plenary sessions was remarkably high, as organizations sought to find on-the-spot solutions to challenges they are currently facing.

For those of you who were able to participate, thank you very much for your time. For those who were not able to join us this time, we're already planning another event in the fall and one next April.
